Palak paratha

Palak paratha or spinach paratha is a great way to integrate taste and health together in one dish.It is a wonderful way to include green in your kids diet specially when spinach is not favorite among the kids. These green color spinach paratha are very attractive to look at and they are wholesome and mouthwatering with a spicy Indian pickle or even with plain yoghurt dip.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups of chopped spinach
  • 2 to 3 cups of whole wheat flour
  • Fresh cream around 1 cup may vary
  • Salt as per taste
  • Cumin powder 1 tbsp
  • Red Chily powder 1 tbsp
  • Green chillies 1 chopped
  • Carom seeds 1/2 tsp
  • Garlic 1 to 2 optional

Instructions

  1. Preparation
  2. Boil the spinach and garlic  in water( for 2 to 3 minutes ) with little salt Don't over cook
  3. Strain and grind into a paste.
  4. Make a dough with all the ingredients mentioned above.
  5. Instead of water ,use fresh cream ,if the dough is too dry.
  6. The dough should be soft but firm.Add more flour if needed.
  7. Make small balls and roll into round breads.
  8. Cook over hot pan till both the sides are cooked ,brush butter or ghee on both the sides while cooking.
  9. Serve with our favorite dip
