Spicy beetroot rice noodles combo

Its a chinese style fried rice prepared with beetroot, chili oil and chinese 5 spice powder

Ingredients

  • 1.1 tablespoons black pepper or sichuan peppercorns crushed
  • 2.1 inch-long piece of cinnamon
  • 3.2 star anise
  • 4.1 cup oil
  • 5.1/4 cup red pepper flakes
  • 6.1/2 tbsp Chinese five spice powder
  • 2 to 4 cloves garlic very finely minced
  • 2 tbsp of sesame paste
  • 1 Beetroot 1 grated
  • 1/2 cup Roasted peanuts
  • 5 to 6 leaves Spinach
  • 2 green chilies chopped finely
  • 1 cup onions
  • 1 bowl Noodles cooked
  • 2 cup rice cooked
  • 1 cup Spring onions chopped 1 cup
  • 2 tbsp Soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp Vinegar or lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp Sugar

Instructions

  1. Preparation
  2. Heat the oil in the microwave with chilly flakes,cinnamon ,star anise for 1 minute

  3. Strain the oil

  4. Prepare five spice powder with cinnamon,star anise,cloves ,fennel seeds and pepper corns in equal

  5. proportions and grounded into a powder.
  6. Add 2 tbsp of oil in the wok.

  7. Add chopped onions and crushed garlic.

  8. Add beetroot grated.

  9. Add sesame paste and five spice powder. and stir till the spices are cooked and aroma emanates from them

  10. Add soy sauce.

  11. Add the vegetables like spinach and green chilies or capsicum.

  12. Add the rice and noodles and mix together.Add 1/2 cup of vegetable stock if the mixture is too dry

  13. Add salt as per taste,vinegar and sugar.

  14. Add the chili oil and mix.

  15. sprinkle roasted peanuts on top and serve.
