Caramel apple empanadas
This are crescent moon shaped pastries stuffed with sweet apple filling and drizzled with caramel sauce

Ingredients

Caramel sauce

Apple filling

apples chopped

cinnamon powder

Empanadas dough

flour

Water as required
Caramel sauce
-
Melt sugar on low heat
-
Add butter and cream and stir
-
Take out from the pan once it’s light brown
Apple filling
-
Peel and chop the apples into small cubes

Add the apples in the same pan and cook with little water

Add vanilla cinnamon and sugar once the apple is cooked till it thickens.
Empanadas
-
Make a tight dough with flour and butter
-
Chill the dough in refrigerator for an hour

Make small balls
-
Roll into thin dish
-
Cut circles with a metal round mold
-
Place filling at the centre of the circle

Close the circle into a half moon shaped stuffed pastry
-
These empanadas are fried in low to medium flame
-
Drizzle caramel sauce on them and serve .
