Mooli kachori

Deep fried flatbreads stuffed with spicy radish filling.

  • 2 cups Radish grated
  • 1 tsp Ajwain or Carom¬† seeds
  • 2 to 3 chopped green chilies
  • 1¬† tbsp ginger
  • 1 tsp red chilly powder
  • Salt to taste


  • 2 cups refined flour
  • 1/4 cup oil
  • Salt to taste


  • 1 cup vegetable oil



  1. Mix the contents of the dough till it leads to a crumbly mixture.
  2. Add 1 cup of water to make a tight dough.
  3. Cover and keep aside ,till you make the filling.


  1. Heat the pan
  2. Add 2 tbsp of oil in the pan.
  3. Add carom seeds.
  4. Follow by ginger and green chillies.
  5. Add grated radish and cook with salt.
  6. Add red chilly powder and mix.
  7. Cover cook for 10 minutes .


  1. Make small balls.
  2. Roll into a thin disk.
  3. Place 1 tbsp of filling in the center.
  4. Wrap the filling with the dough.
  5. Allow to rest for 5 minutes before rolling out again.


  1. Heat 1 cup of oil for frying.
  2. roll the filled balls into medium sized disks.
  3. or you can flatten them with fingers.
  4. Deep fry them in hot oil,till they puff up.
