Green chana barfi | chholiya barfi

This is a wonderful innovative dessert with beautiful green color, prepared from the green chickpeas which are rich in protein and folate.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup green chickpeas
  • 150 gms mawa reduced dried milk
  • 1/2 cup condensed milk
  • 2 green cardamom
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 th cup clarified butter

Instructions

  1. Make a paste of the green chickpeas
  2. Heat ghee
  3. Saute the green paste for 5 to 10 minutes
  4. Make a smooth paste of the unsweetened mawa in grinder
  5. Add the mawa and stir
  6. Add 1/2 cup condensed milk and keep on stirring in slow flame
  7. When the mixture is leaving the sides of the pan ,add sugar and stir
  8. add cardamom powder and stir
  9. set it in a greased pan and chill for 2 to 3 hours
  10. Cut into squares and serve
  11. You can decorate with chopped pistachios and almonds.
