Coriander mutton curry recipe

This is a homemade typical Sunday lunch mutton curry relished with rice dominant with flavors of coriander. I thrown in a paste of coriander and green chili paste and the curry tasted amazing .

Ingredients

Whole spices

  • 4 to 5 Cardamom
  • 3 to4 cloves
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 bay leaf

Dry spice powder

  • 1 tbsp coriander powder
  • 1 tbsp red chili powder
  • Salt to taste

Main ingredients

  • 4 potatoes
  • 1 kg lamb meat
  • 3 whole peeled onions
  • 1 whole garlic unpeeled washed
  • 2 to 3 green chilies

Wet spices

  • 1 bunch coriander leaves
  • 2 to 3 green chilies

Marinate

  • 1/2 cup curd
  • 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste

oil

  • 1/4 cup mustard oil

Instructions

Preparations

  1. Marinate mutton with curd and ginger garlic paste
  2. Make a paste of coriander leaves ,green chilies.
  3. Heat mustard oil and fry potatoes till golden brown
  4. Take out the potatoes and keep aside
  5. Add the cardamom ,cinnamon ,cloves and bay leaf into oil and fry
  6. Add the coriander paste and sautee
  7. Add coriander,cumin and red chili powder.
  8. Add the mutton,salt and saute till water dries and oil starts showing
  9. Add 1 cup of water and potatoes with mutton in the pressure cooke
  10. Add 1 whole garlic and whole onions.
  11. Pressure cook till 7 to 8 whistles or till the mutton is tender fall of bones.
  12. Serve hot with rice.
