The enclosed E-book contains 50 dessert recipes containing variety of desserts including eggless, dairy-free, gluten free and vegan varieties. The recipes are grouped into 7 sections:-
- Kheer recipes
Kheer is a Indian sweet pudding prepared by thickening milk often
with rice, grains, vermicelli, or vegetables. It is also known as payesh, payesam, phirni and so on depending on the ingredients used
- Halwa recipes
Halwa is a sweet dish popular in all parts of India and its neighboring countries. The dish halwa is said to have an Arabic origin. In this dish any
grain or vegetables are fried in clarified butter or ghee and then sweetened with sugar and milk and generally packed with dried fruits and
aromatics forming a fudgy texture. They can be easily used as a filling in tarts and pies too and baked to yield delicious festival desserts.
- Sandesh recipes
Sandesh is a sweet dish originating from the Eastern part of India. It is
prepared by cooking chhena or paneer (made by curdling milk) with sugar
and aromatics. Sometimes mawa( evaporated milk) is used instead of
paneer. Then it may be known as peda.
- Laddu recipes
Laddu or laddoo is a ball shaped sweet dish originating from the
Indian subcontinent. Made primarily with grains bound with
clarified butter or edible gum and rich with dried fruits and aromatics, they are a festival treat.
- Baked dessert recipes
Some desserts are baked instead of cooking on direct flame or a
combination of cooking and baking may be used. popular ones are cakes,
tarts, pies, cookies etc.
- Sweet treats
Sweet treat is a sweet food, any kinds of food with sugar in it like a
piece of cake, chocolates, candied fruits or vegetables, fried dough
soaked in sugar syrup qualifies as sweet treats.
- Frozen desserts
Frozen dessert is a dessert made by freezing fruit puree, custards,
smoothies, liquids and sometimes even solids. They can be sorbets ,ice-creams, falooda (made with vermicelli flavored with syrup and soaked chia seeds) on milk and cream (most ice creams)
