These are soft juicy chicken balls in gravy which can be served with rice or bread,or you can have
it dry with any kind of sauce.

 

 

Ingredients for kofta

1.Minced chicken 400 gms
2.Bengal Gram dal(Yellow lentils) 1/2 cup soaked
3.Onions (2 chopped)
4.Garlic (4 to 5 cloves)
5.Ginger(1/2 inch)
6.Red chilli dry (2)
7.Green chillies(2 to 3)
8.Salt to taste
9.All spice powder(Garam masala) 1 tbsp

Method

1.Grind all the above ingredients in the grinder.
2.Add 1 tbsp of oil in the wok and heat it.
3.Add the mixture and stir vigorously( for around 15 minutes) still the mixture it dry and start

leaving the sides of the  pan .
4.Cool the mixture.
5.Wet your palm and make small balls from the above mixture.
6.Roll the balls in cornflour and you can either bake it for 10 minutes or deep fry.

Ingredients for the gravy

1.Onion (1)
2.Tomato (1)
3.Ginger garlic paste (1 tbsp)
4.Fenugreek or dry methy leaves.
5.Green chily(1 chopped finely)
6.Kashmiri red chilli powder(1 tbsp)
7.Fresh cream (optional)

Fenugreek leaves

Method

1.Grind onion.
2.Grind tomato and form paste.
3.In the wok add a tbsp of oil and add onion paste first when it becomes golden add ginger garlic

paste and fry
4.Add tomato paste and fry
5.Add turmeric and chilli powder and fry till the mixture starts leaving the sides of the pan.
6.Add 1/2 cup of water or fresh cream .
7.Add the koftas or chicken balls and cook on medium heat for 2 to 3 minutes.
8.Add fenugreek leaves.
9.Plate it and serve with rice.

    The koftas look yummy! Remind me of the base we make for shami kebabs and nargisi koftas. That curry looks finger licking good!
