Valentine’s day is celebrated in the United States on 14th February and this festival slowly has become a popular festival around the world to exchange gifts, candies, sweets, chocolates among loved ones. Why not! we are always ready for special days to showcase and celebrate love. Showering love for our loved ones never seems to be enough.

This festival has got its name from St. Valentine and there are several stories behind it, one of the interesting among them is this which I am going to share today. Valentine was a priest in Rome during the reign of Emperor Claudius. Emperor Claudius II prohibited the marriage of young men and women by law as he thought single men will be more efficient soldiers in the army. Valentine, being a priest realized the cruelty of this law and continued to get young couples in love, married in secret. As a result, he was penalized to death by the emperor. Due to this reason, to honor the heroism and valor of St. Valentine, Valentine’s day is celebrated as a lover’s day all over the world.

This year I decided to make these heart-shaped pretty looking homemade pasta in beetroot based pink sauce. The dish is pretty, delicious, and savory and can be served for valentine’s day dinner.
