How to make boondi laddu

This are beautiful, sweet treats made of chickpea flour, dunked in sugar syrup and made into balls. Each bite is a blend of aromatic flavors, rolled in dried fruits. These are consumed as temple food or prasad offered to the Lord. The chickpea flour batter is passed through a sieve and deep fried to form crispy balls which are drenched in sugar syrup colored sometimes and made into round balls with clarified butter or ghee.

Ingredients

  • Boondi making.
  • 1 cup chickpea flour
  • 3/4 cup water
  • Sugar syrup
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • Clarified butter/oil for frying.

Instructions

  1. Make a smooth batter with water and chickpea flour.
  2. Strain the batter.
  3. Heat the clarified butter or oil in the pan.
  4. Drop the batter slowly in the oil.
  5. Fry the balls till light brown.
    6.Heat sugar and water till it dissolves.
    7.cook the fried balls in sugar syrup till they completely absorb the syrup.
  6. Take out on a plate.
  7. Cool them.
  8. Make medium sized balls.
  9. Garnish with dried fruits.
