bati chorchori recipe( Alu tomator pot curry)

This is  a traditional Indian dish in which I have added a few new spices .The technique is basically special.No oil is used in making this dish except for seasoning and it is cooked in a pot not in a wok .Spices you can vary depending on your personal choice.The curry will have a flavour from the oil.

Ingredients

1.Potatoes (4 to 5 chopped into square pieces)
2.Tomatoes (3 to 5 chopped)
3.Garlic (4 to 5 cloves finely chopped)
4.Chilli flakes( 1 tsp) optional
5.Green chillies(1 chopped)
6.Salt as per taste
7.Sugar (as per taste )optional
8.Turmeric powder( a pinch)(optional if you are using olive oil avoid turmeric powder)
9.Mustard oil or olive oil or coconut oil(2 tbsp)

preparation 

1.Add the potato and tomato pieces together with all the ingredients  except oil  in a pot.
2.Cover and cook for 15 minutes till the potatoes are soft and tomatoes have blended in the curry.
3.Cook the curry so that it soaks up the additional water and the curry should not be watery.
4.Add the oil  directly to the curry.

In this dish vegetables and spices with raw mustard oil are cooked in a rustic fashion in a pot,preserving all the flavors in the curry.
