In Bengal this meal is about pampering son in laws and treating him with a delicious meal. The actual event is on 19th June 2018.On this day , the husband of daughter who is also known as “Jamai” in Bengali ,along with his family ,visit their in-laws house with gifts .In this Bengali meal the Hilsa fish and Rosogolla is given the utmost importance. Hilsa is a fish relished by all Bengalis in any festivals and weddings. This fish is born in the sea and then it migrates to the Padma river delta in Bangladesh to lay eggs during the monsoons. Padma river becomes the river Ganga in India. This pop up meal is about being nostalgic about that culture and cherishing the recipes from my childhood kitchen.
