This can be a wholesome nutritious breakfast or dessert filled with goodness .I have tried this recipe from my google+ friend Gloria Ruvalcaba in one of her posts found it really intriguing .Apple is nutritious full of iron ,good for improving hemoglobin content of the blood and this can be an excellent recipe for your kids or family members who do not take interest in having whole fruits.You can use butter for better taste but you can always replace with olive or ordinary vegetable oil.
Caramelized apple bread and dates stir fry
Apples ,dates ,raisins stir and wholewheat bread pieces stir fried in olive oil and caramelized with brown sugar spiced with cinnamon
Ingredients
- 2 Apples
- 4 Whole wheat breads
- 1/2 cup Dates seedless
- 1/4 cup raisins optional
- 1/2 cup Brown sugar
- 2 tbsp Apple cider vinegar
- 1 tsp Cinnamon powder
- 1 tsp olive oil
Instructions

Slice the apples with skin

cut the bread in small squares

chop the dates into small pieces

Stir fry the fruits and bread in oil till the fruits are tender and the bread seem crispy in low flame.

Add the vinegar and cook for 5 minutes ,till the apples and dates are tender and soft

Add 1/2 cup of sugar to coat in high flame quickly to caramelize

Sprinkle cinnamon powder and mix

You can serve hot if you are serving for breakfast .chill for at least 30 minutes if you are serving for dessert
