The fruits are called cranberries as the flowers of this plant resemble the head of a Crane and it is the favorite food for these birds. These are super food rich in antioxidants. Their bright red color look appetizing when added in dishes and their sweet and tart taste gives a perfect balance taste in sweet and savory dishes. The cranberries grow on low lying vines in beds called bogs which are made from glacial deposits consisting of sands and gravels.

Ingredients for meatballs

  • 200 gm Ground pork
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp. ginger garlic paste
  • 1 cup chopped onions
  • 2 chopped green chilies
  • 1 tsp Kosher salt

Ingredients for cranberry sauce

  • 1 cup dried US cranberries
  • 4 to 5 medium garlic cloves
  • 1 tsp Kashmiri chili powder
  • 1 tbsp. of roasted sesame oil
  • 1 tsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp gochujang sauce(optional)
  • 1/2 tbsp. brown sugar
  • Salt to taste

Preparations of the meatballs

  • Combine all the ingredients of the meatballs
  • Make small balls
  • Deep fry them till crisp on the outside

Preparations of the sauce

  • Puree the dried US cranberries
  • heat the sesame oil
  • Fry the garlic
  • Add the cranberry puree
  • Add chili powder
  • Add salt , sugar and sauté
  • Add 2 tbsp. water and mix thoroughly.
  • Add the meat balls and coat them.
  • Cool the meat balls.
  • Pass them through the skewers.
  • Char them directly over fire.
  • Serve hot.
