This dish is made with inspiration derived from the recipe of Dan dan noodles which is a noodle
dish originating from Chinese Sichuan cuisine. It consists of a spicy sauce ,chili oil, Chinese five
spice powder ,sesame paste and other spices in addition to vegetables or meat.I made this on a day
when I eat only vegetarian food But you can make this dish with any minced meat if you want.This is an excellent way to consume leftover rice and noodles in the fridge.You can prepare any proportions of
rice and noodles together as per your convenience,equal preferred.
Ingredients
1.1 tablespoons black pepper or sichuan peppercorns crushed
2.1 inch-long piece of cinnamon
3.2 star anise
4.1 cup oil
5.1/4 cup red pepper flakes
6.1/2 tbsp Chinese five spice powder
7.2 to 4 cloves garlic, very finely minced
8.2 tbsp of sesame paste
09.Beetroot 1 grated
10.Roasted peanuts (1/2 cup)
11.Spinach (5 to 6 leaves)(on any veggies like capsicum ,carrot etc)
12.green chilies 2 chopped finely
13.onions (1 cup)
14.Noodles (cooked 1 bowl)
15.2 cup rice(cooked)
16.Spring onions chopped 1 cup
17.Soy sauce 2 tbsp
19.Vinegar or lemon juice (2 tbsp)
20. Sugar (1 tbsp)

Preparation
1.Heat the oil in the microwave with chilly flakes,cinnamon ,star anise for 1 minute (alternatively
heat it).Strain the oil
2.Prepare five spice powder with cinnamon,star anise,cloves ,fennel seeds and pepper corns in equal
proportions and grounded into a powder.
3.Add 2 tbsp of oil in the wok.
4.Add chopped onions and crushed garlic.
5.Add beetroot grated.
6.Add sesame paste and five spice powder. and stir till the spices are cooked and aroma emanates from them
7.Add soy sauce.
8.Add the vegetables like spinach and green chilies or capsicum.
9.Add the rice and noodles and mix together.Add 1/2 cup of vegetable stock if the mixture is too dry
10.Add salt as per taste,vinegar and sugar.
11.Add the chili oil and mix.
12.sprinkle roasted peanuts on top and serve.
